Eau Claire Market - An Unsung Calgary Treasure
There’s always some kerfuffle about how people should buy local. The economic benefits are obvious, and people say they would shop local if they were given the option. Posh, clean, and busting at the seams with culture, it’s not hard to see that the Eau Claire Market should be the toast of the city of Calgary. If you haven’t made a trip over lately, you’re missing out on one of the more unique public centres.
Finding my d-spot in the downtown
When people think of bustling metropolises Calgary often isn’t the first city that comes to mind. Insanely suburban, culturally wanting, lackingje ne sais quoi. But the city is starting to become self aware after going nutty with oil (not to say that won’t happen again) for so many years. If nothing else, they’ve started a hilarious new campaign that’s spicing up train stations and sidewalks. The find your d-spot campaign is adding a dose of humour to the current Calgary downtown situation.
Never Settle For Less - Good Cheeseburgers at Peter's Drive-In
I guess you could say I have a soft spot (and a hardened artery) for a great cheeseburger. Peter’s is a burger joint that has burgers that are delicious and quality-control normally reserved for Japanese sword-making. You can’t help but compare other burgers made in Calgary to a Peter’s Drive-In burger. Established in 1962, Peter’s does great business. All day, every day. The pictures I’ve taken are at 10 at night on a Thursday, which isn’t exactly a dining hour in most of Canada.
